My Story

Austin (Hiro) Hironaka was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. After graduation, he found himself in Seattle and set off as a professional snowboarder. During these years, while traveling the world chasing snow and seeking out the next best locations to film his snowboarding, hot rods were always in the back of his mind. From car shows and meets to a group of homies getting together to go on a cruise, the custom car world has always been a part of Hiro’s true passion. As he was ready to take hold of the shifter, grab a gear, and disappear into the next chapter, he knew that would involve all things with an engine and horse power. Combining his love for Japanese cars and the knowledge of customizing classic cars passed down to him from his old man Moe, Hiro’s Hotrods was born.

2020, the year of the mask, is also the year of Hiro’s Hotrods. The down time gave his busy mind time to think about dreams that needed to become reality. November 1st, keys were acquired and December 1st, the first customer car came in for the Hiro’s Hotrod touch!

Dream it.

The 94 Del sol was my first frame up hotrod/restoration back in 2011. I built that thing in a leaky 1940’s built Seattle under ground single wide garage with the dream that one day I’d have a big ol shop with a lift and plenty of room to boogie!

Build it.

Fast forward to almost a decade later and we are there! Make dreams, dream about them often, then make those dreams your reality!!

Time to Hotrod the world!
